PRESENTATION NOTES AND RESOURCES -- December 2012

THREE CRITICAL QUESTIONS FROM OUR DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ANSWERS GENERATED FROM OUR DISCUSSION:

  • How do we help others be INTENTIONAL about their use of technology for relationships, productivity, and faith?
    • Have students and adults create intentional device management plans
  • How do we better help our 18-29 year olds develop a LASTING relationship with Christ as their Savior?
    • Intentionally create a safe forum for the expression of doubts and an ongoing, loving conversation for those who are questioning God and their faith
  • How do we strategically harness the opportunities for sharing faith that exist with new technologies without sacrificing the primacy of face-to-face intimacy in the process?
    • Create a series of questions about each new technology and its value for ministry and relationships

ONGOING QUESTIONS:

  • How can we best turn these questions into an ongoing and persistent conversation about ministry in the digital age? How can I both benefit from and contribute to this conversation?
  • What is new research saying about digital life and culture?
